driftlet updates: june 2025

Driftlet now has a website. Check out Driftlet.xyz for future updates and announcements. There's also a Docker image now.

the two-hour debugging session

Speaking of passwords, I wasted two hours debugging why I couldn't log into my own instance.

I kept resetting my password. Over and over. Nothing worked.

Turns out my username had changed. It was set to some random header value. No idea why or how, but there it was.

The irony: I built this whole clever system where setting the DB password field to "reset" automatically triggers password recovery. Proper flow, proper email, the works.

None of that mattered because the issue was the username, not the password. Two hours debugging something I could've solved in ten seconds by checking the username field.

I might add a forgot username flow at this point.
